Itinera
Itinera says:
enough
Enough dithering around.
Enough missed opportunities.
This country deserves better policies,
in a better Europe, with more thoughtful choices.
Itinera supports with insights and inspiration
societal leaders who, like us,
dare to say “enough”.
Every day.

Philantropy confirms its essential role in Belgian society
In a context marked by successive crises, philanthropy confirms its essential role in Belgian society. More than 8 in 10 Belgians recognise its importance, and 6 in 10 take action by making a donation to one or more charities. Fiscal incentives remain an important driver of generosity, particularly among the working population. The new Philanthropy Barometer of the King Baudouin Foundation and Itinera shows that the sector is stabilising and that confidence is returning.
The Philanthropy Barometer, published every three years by the King Baudouin Foundation and Itinera, consists of two complementary parts. On the one hand, the Philanthropy Index measures philanthropic activity in Belgium based on objective data from, among others, the National Bank (data on non-profit associations), the FPS Economy (budget surveys) and the FPS Finance (tax certificates). On the other hand, the Philanthropy Climate analyses the perceptions and attitudes of Belgians based on a survey conducted by IPSOS at the end of 2025 among 1,000 Belgians aged 18 and over.
This eighth edition of the Philanthropy Barometer provides a snapshot of Belgian generosity and of the philanthropic sector in Belgium.
