Our country faces many challenges in many areas.
But one cannot worry about every little thing.
That is why Itinera is concentrating its efforts on three themes
on which Belgium, and by extension Europe, should focus
in order to reconnect with growth, prosperity and well-being.
These three themes are a resilient society,
prosperity through entrepreneurship and better governance.
Theme
A resilient society
Challenges and problems will always arise. That is inevitable, and not a problem as long as we are strong enough not to let them throw us off balance. Our systems must also be resilient. Our healthcare system, for example, is among the best in the world. But pressure on social security is increasing. And Belgium and Europe must be strong enough to remain in control of their own destiny in this rapidly changing world.
Itinera is not waiting for the system to implode, but is striving for a society in which, with the right policies, everyone who wants to can contribute to the greater good. We can still turn the tide.

Prosperity through entrepreneurship
If we want to increase our prosperity, we must create a society where fresh, ambitious ideas can grow into sustainable businesses, where education prepares young people for the future and gives them purpose, and where innovations are transformed into a successful economy. In this way, we can create an economy that continues to flourish without depleting the planet, and a society that is pleasant to live in.

Better governance
In a world where democracy is increasingly under threat, Itinera is keenly focused on ensuring that individual rights and freedoms are upheld. A reliable legal system is the foundation, and trust in politics must be the government’s ambition. By focusing on its core tasks, carefully managing taxpayers’ money and being accountable.
We do this by conducting research, disseminating the results, and acting, not just as an inspiring sparring partner for policymakers, but also as a guardian.
